FC Kendall defeated South Florida FC 3-0 in the Fall Championship Finals, closing out a terrific 2018 run by FC Kendall.
The goalscoring began early in the 15-minute mark when FC Kendall’s John Diaz received the ball in the middle of the pitch and send a perfectly-placed through ball towards the right of the box to Martin Nuñez, who went on a solo run and as soon as he stepped into the box, the former Fort Lauderdale Striker placed the ball low and to the right, giving the keeper no shot in defending it.
15 minutes later, Daniel Ocampo and Santi Schmid had some great touch passes that helped the FC Kendall defense move all the way up the right side of the field. Ocampo sent cross to the box and over South Florida FC’s keeper and found a streaking Nuñez at the tip of the box for an easy tap-in.
With ten minutes left in the game and the score 2-1 for FC Kendall, Nuñez put the nail in the coffin as the Uruguayan recorded a hat-trick in the Fall Championship Finals after Nick Chase sent a ball to the box and was headed by Jona Andrade to Nunez who coolly grabbed the ball in the penalty area and placed it in the right post.
Nuñez’s hat trick is the first ever in the Fall Championship Finals, and his heroics helped FC Kendall lift the title after one of the best regular seasons in team history.
